Marseilles Basil (2015 Novelty)

  • September 2015

A must-have from the Provence region

This variety of basil is said to have originated from the Genovese strain. In this region, it is sometimes called Pesto. It stems from a popular confusion between the herb and its use. Indeed, the Marseilles Basil is traditionally used with garlic and oil in the preparation of the Pesto, famous Provençal condiment.

A floral and fruity flavour

The Marseilles Basil is a blend of delicate flavours.

It surprises the taste buds through an explosion of ripe fruits which can be reminded of the taste of apricot whilst remaining very floral.

Thereafter, notes of citrus and eucalyptus leave a pleasant sensation of freshness in the mouth.

Ginger, the alter ego of the Marseilles Basil
